Part 2: Will the social media usage change in the future?
21. July 2011 by Roman Roman | Comments (2)Beside the actual usage of social media in the event industry, it is very interesting to see what the event organizers have planned for the future. Therefore, amiando asked the survey takers, if they will increase their social media activities, remain them unchanged or reduce them.
Over 80% of the hosts want to increase their social media activities
In the future, the clear majority of survey participants (82%) will increase their social media activities. Only 17% won’t change their activities and only 1% of the survey participants will reduce it. This is not surprising at all: Most companies have finally realised that social media is here to stay. However, it will be interesting to see how the industry will react to new trends in social media – or whether they will react at all.
Concept? Concept!
The collected data leads to one conclusion, which may appear simple, but is tremendously important: If you want to use social media as a marketing instrument, then it should not be a half-hearted decision. Develop a concept and act accordingly. You will see that a well elaborated strategy will pay off – and a not so elaborated will only cause costs and trouble!
