»Holi« ist eines der vielen indischen Frühlingsfeste des Hinduismus, mit Abstand das populärste und farbenprächtigste indische Fest und wird auch »Fest der Farben« genannt. Holi wird von Hindus in ganz Indien gefeiert, ist in Nordindien dem Gott Krishna (“der höchste Gott”) gewidmet, in Südindien hingegen dem Liebesgott Kama. Zum Holifest sind alle Schranken durch Kasten, Geschlecht, Alter und gesellschaftlichen Status aufgehoben. Es wird ausgelassen gefeiert und man bewirft und bestreut sich gegenseitig mit gefärbtem Puder, dem »Gulal«.

On November 15, the 2nd Sport Numer1cus conference will take place in Paris. The venue for this event will be the largest stadium in France [Stade de France].

Creative Geeks from all over the world get together in Munich
On the 23rd and 24th of November, envis precisely invites designers and creative coders for a two-day event to the Bavarian capital – the push conference.
The conference is a unique two-part event for the interactive field. push.ux connects designers and developers of outstanding user interfaces, while push.inspiration unites creative coders and designers experimenting with innovative technologies.
On Saturday November 24, six designers and artists from the interactive field give insights in their work and share their visions on the future development of interaction design.
On October 4, the webrazzi summit will take place in Istanbul, Turkey. It will cover a range of topics including Digital Marketing, Social Media, E-commerce, Venture Capital, Angel Investment, Online Gaming, Mobile Applications and more. The attendees will be at the heart of the Turkish internet industry, with keynote and parallel sessions during the day. Companies and investors interested in the Turkish market can leverage the numerous networking opportunities that the summit will offer.
On November 27, the ConventionCamp 2012 takes place in Hannover. As the name already reveals, the event is intended to be a mix of conference and innovative barcamp. People from different disciplines – business, science and web 2.0 unite to discuss relevant upcoming internet topics.
The event is set up as an (un)conference – this implicates that each participant can also be a speaker. Free sessions within the program can be used for own contributions, interactive workshops and the active exchange of experiences.
On August 31 – September 9, the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships 2012 take place in Saalfelden Leogang, Austria. Two weeks of concentrated mountain bike action on a world-class level. Over 800 active athletes are supposed to start in the various competitions. The world champion title is up for grabs in the disciplines of downhill, four cross, cross country, trials and for the first time cross country eliminator. This is an absolute mandatory date for every fan of mountain biking!
On September 21 – 23, the National Achievers Congress 2012 will take place in Nürnberg.

On August 3-5, Mannifest 2012, the genuine home-grown festival takes place in Glen Lough on the Isle of Man. Last year, the festival was visited by 7000 people, of whom many called it one of the most amazing outdoor music festival on the Isle of Man. It is an all-family event, where young and not-so-young can have a great time by enjoying arts, crafts and entertainment. Besides various music acts, activities for children and other sorts of entertainment are offered, too. There are still tickets for all three days (no camping) as well as for the DJ night and the whole weekend (inc. camping) available.
After a successful première last year, the Developer Conference will take place again on September 7-8, at the OTTO-Forum in Hamburg. Under the theme ‘from developers for developers’ the conference- and networking-event for web-developers brings together young staff members and experts in the developing branch. Besides the conference program, Saturday the 8th is proclaimed as “Toolday”, where developers have the chance to experience the newest software solutions. An After Work Party will be organized as well.
On September 20-21, Frozen Rails 2012, Finland’s first and only Ruby and Rails conference, takes place! The audience will consist of top notch web developers from Finland and abroad. This year, the conference organized by KiskoLabs is aiming for a more ecological and less wasteful conference. The program is not completely set yet and you still have the chance to become a sponsor or speaker! Keynote speakers will be Jeff Casimir, co-founder of jumpstart lab, and Jim Weirich, chief scientist at edgecase. There are still some early bird tickets left!
