We published our Green Events Report 2013 today!

Are green and sustainability issues getting more important? What are the main reasons for event professionals to not act green?
The Green Events Report 2013 is based on a survey amiando conducted and, in which various event organisers worldwide participated. The report outlines the most important facts of the survey and gives effective tips for the successful organisation of green events. In cooperation with ClimatePartner, carbon emissions can be balanced and offset through high quality carbon offset projects.

We are going to present you three facts from the report right now and we’ll go further into detail in the following blog entries. So don’t forget to have a look at our blog.
Fact 1: Green Events have a higher importance for event professionals than in previous years
61% of event organisers indicated that green and sustainability issues are higher on their agenda than in the past.
23% of the event organisers say that green issues remain just as important as in previous years.
Fact 2: Green Topics find their ways into event companies
The survey result illustrates that green topics are becoming more important to the event organisers:
A CSR policy is important to a majority of the industry; only 34% of the event professionals do not have such a policy.
Fact 3: Know-how and budgets are restrictions for a more sustainable working practice
The answers to this question are explicit: over 31% indicated that a lack of both knowledge and funds are the main issues. Only 21% explained that their main reason for the lack of more sustainable working practices is due to “time” and “company buying in”.

Which ticket prices are suitable for different event categories?
When are the most tickets sold?
We analysed data from more than 180,000 organised events and are pleased to present our new publication series, amiando Insider Knowledge, which includes helpful tips that will ensure successful event planning.
Three facts out of the report:
Most tickets are sold in the last week before the event
An analysis of approximately 500,000 sold tickets confirmed an average price of 131 euros per ticket. Almost 50% of tickets were sold in the month leading up to the event, of which 25% were sold within the last week.
Conferences & Seminars:
Large differences in prices with few last-minute ticket sales
The largest price range appeared for conference tickets. As a result, a price benchmark for this category was difficult to determine.
The average price per ticket was 313 euros for events with 200 to 500 attendees. On average, prices for seminar tickets were lower than conference tickets. The average ticket price was approximately 157 euros with the majority of tickets costing between 20 and 100 euros. Conference and seminar attendees tended to buy their tickets early. Ticket sales that occurred shortly before the event were rare.
Concerts & Festivals:
Ticket prices between 10 and 50 euros
The majority of concert and festival tickets ranged from 10 to 50 euros. The average price for approximately 140,000 tickets sold for entertainment events was 32 euros and therefore distinctly lower than the prices for business event tickets. Unlike conferences and seminars, the majority of concert tickets were booked right before the event took place. A 35% increase in the ticket sale graph could be observed approximately one week before the event.

With more and more smartphones coming out equipped with Near Field Communication chips, or NFC, more people are getting aware of the existence of this promising technology. But only a few actually know what exactly NFC is and that it can be used for many things – including events.
What Is Near Field Communication (NFC)?
To keep it short; NFC is a short-range wireless technology that uses inductive circuits to exchange data between two NFC capable devices. NFC is a special form of the known RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) with the difference that NFC has a working range of maximum 10 centimeters (4 inches) and can be set up for one- or two-way communication.

Direct-to-Fan Ticketing (D2F)
Ticketing is an important part of the D2F direct marketing and it allows for a direct and personal interaction between bands and their fans. The online ticket shop module can be integrated into the band’s channels (for example Facebook, Webpage) for free. amiando offers various possibilities of marketing and communication with fans. The great advantage is that the band not only keeps control of the tickets but can also build up a close communication with their fans through customer data.
