Are you wondering what we are currently busy with?
After the great success of our last year’s Social Media and Events Report with about 10.000 downloads, we are working on the 2012 version at full speed! The report will once again show you how the event industry is using social networks, the importance of social media as a marketing tool for event organizers, and give you an outlook on how social media activities will change in the future. In this year’s report, we will also compare the results to last year’s data. The report further gives you valuable social media tips and points out some dangers of social media.
A high amount of data is the basis of significant results. That’s why for this year’s report, we will soon need your help! In April, all customers and everyone who’s subscribed to our newsletter will receive an email with a survey. Participants can not only contribute their experience with social media, as a little incentive there will also be a raffle where you can win great prizes! Event registration is an exhausting business – and sometimes even the amiando team needs a break. What would be a better way of clearing our minds for new ideas and build an even stronger team than having some fun in the snow? So last Friday, almost 40 amiandos and amiandas from the offices in Munich, Paris and London packed their coats, snowboards and skis and got on the bus to spend two days in Wildkogel, Austria!
After arriving at the hotel, we took the gondola lift all the way up to the peak of the Wildkogel and had a fantastic dinner (lots of pork, Semmelknödel and Kaiserschmarrn!) at the Wildkogelhaus. Well-fed, we went on a 30-minute-sledge-ride with a fierce fighting at the finish line (which we all reached pretty much unharmed and in the end, all the meanwhile lost people made it back to the bus). Back at the hotel, parts of the group hit the night life of Neukirchen.
On Saturday, the group split up (intentionally, this time) and we all enjoyed a wonderful sunny day in the snow skiing, snowboarding and snow shoe hiking. In the evening, the bus took us back to Munich, exhausted and happy. Thanks, amiando!

We are happy to announce that amiando launches Green Ticketing at this year’s SXSW interactive festival!
Green events try to be as environmentally friendly as possible and with our completely paperless online registration and ticketing we already help events being green. But now we’ve thought of something new: from now on, delegates have the opportunity to buy CO2 certificates with each ticket in order to compensate for their carbon dioxid emission impact that is caused by traveling to and from the event.
How does it work?
When you buy a ticket for any event on amiando, you will be asked if you want to purchase a CO2 certificate. The cost of this certificate depends on the attendee’s traveling distance to the event, the type and the lenght of the event. The money from these certificates is used for reforestation projects – trees are planted which compensate for the attendee’s calculated carbon dioxide emissions.
Organizers and sponsors can also help making event management greener by paying the total cost for compensating the event’s carbon dioxide footprint.
“Event production and attendee travelling make events a relevant contributor of greenhouse gas emissions. As the tool of choice for thousands of event organizers we see it as our responsibility to act environmentally thoughtful. Therefore we are very happy and proud to help both event organizers and delegates to reduce an event’s carbon footprint”, says Felix Haas, CEO amiando.
Our provider of the CO2 certificates is ClimatePartner, a climate protection consultancy which works closely with environmental organizations.
